AMBODE USHERS LAGOS INTO COMMERCE

As part of the promises of the Lagos State Governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, “I would enhance and create a flourishing environment for commerce in the state”, he says.
This statement was made at the opening of the Lagos’ largest mail, in Novare Lekki Mall, where the Governor was represented by his Special Adviser on Commerce, Mr. Benjamin Olabinjo, on Thursday.
Gov. Ambode pointed out, saying that the multi-billion mall explains the drive for his administration to promote commerce and industry in Lagos.
According to him, the N31.5bn Novare Lekki Mall, which is located at the 28,000 square meters and 22,000M2 of the gross lettable area, is the currently the largest mall in Lagos, which comprises of both local and foreign tenants.
In his words, “we have being committed to at increasing the flow of foreign and direct investment through various reforms and provisions of convenient environment for commerce”.
Novare Lekki Mall was developed as an affiliate of Novare Real Estate Africa, by Urshday Limited. Its investment portfolio is involved in a property development, across Africa and was driven by foreign direct investment through a hybrid financing of debt and equity.
According to the chairman Novare Real Estate Africa, professor Fabian Ajogwu, “the successful completion of the Novare Mall in record time was an attempt to enhancing the environment, created by the state government to help increase foreign direct investment.
In his statement, the mall earns Lagos over an $83m direct investment which transcends financial values. It has also empowered over 4,650 Nigerians through direct and in-direct employment.
In the voice of Mr. Ambode’s voice, his special adviser for commerce said, “ based on the importance of the FDIs job creation and national development, our job is obtained from our fate, that Nigeria would be a better place even in the creation of minimum adequate economic environment so as to earn back our economy ”.
